This piece was created during one of my trips to Indiana Dunes. I sat on the sand and watched the wind play inside the branches, I watched the sky behind the branches, I watched the tree trunks and the lake. Then I used my brush to respond to the scene. This painting captures the subjectivity of that particular day.
Tamara Wasserman was born in Riga, Latvia, and spent her childhood in the forests and on the beaches of the Baltic Sea, playing and dreaming next to centuries old pine trees. She received a BFA in Fine Arts from the Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem, Israel, and moved to the US shortly after that.
Tamara’s art can be described as visual stories with characters that are both figurative and abstract. Creative process wrestles with ideas and ideas develop and take form through the process. Tamara has exhibited her work in galleries and museums of Chicago, New York City, Boston, Michigan, and Indiana, as well as in the galleries of Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem in Israel. Tamara will have her first West Coast exhibition early next year.
Tamara’s art is in private collections in the US, England and Israel.
